KARAŚ / ROGUCKI is a duo established after the suspension of Coma and The Dumplings bands. In this tandem, Kuba Karaś is responsible for the production, Piotr Rogucki deals with the lyrics and both polish up the music.
The combination of two different sensitivities and metrics may have seemed risky, yet brought a harmonious effect of 11 tracks, released by the Kayax label early in 2020.
The album contains material described by the authors as automotive-catastrophic erotica. One can guess these are not ordinary songs about love, but rather a story of feelings in the era of the end of civilization, in a time of a cybernetic plague. The whole thing took a dark and dense form, inspired by the music of the 80s, by cold wave and new romantic.
Critics emphasize the melody of the songs, their dance potential, and at the same time the decadent atmosphere of the lyrics, losing oneself in words. Fans of the duo’s work claim that it is ideal cooperation, a creative unity (though based on contrast) to be experienced the most intensely at live concerts.
Will there be “Painful Shots to the Heart”? Or rather an emotional hurricane “Katrina? Don’t worry: there will be “A Few Sighs”, and even “Petite Mort”.
