Even if you don’t understand any of it – few of us ever learned the Norwegian Bryne dialect at school – the fun is guaranteed. Without trying to claim international versatility, the band leaders (singer Janove Ottesen and guitarist Geir Zahl, who have been playing together for over thirty years) create a fascinating and suggestive song theatre (we provide information about the subject of the songs based on second-hand source material: dark stories about the mafia, Russian roulette, the resistance movement, war victims, sailors and psychiatric hospitals, etc., etc.). Mysterious characters, including Mr. Kaizer, after whom the band takes its name, shaped the universe of these songs.
With their dozen albums and many concerts in Scandinavia and Europe, Kaizers Orchestra is known in Poland to connoisseurs of eclectic art songs, but don’t worry: Wrocław has already seen some eccentricities. Be the first to throw a stone if you have never performed on stage in a gas mask!
