– Riot Days is more than just a gig – it’s somewhere between a gripping piece of Putin-skewering musical theatre, an urgent jazz-punk book recital and a film screening that unfurls like a nerve-shredding thriller – The Guardian wrote about the presentation at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The president, the prime minister and the entire apparatus of violence of the Russian Federation hate them (the feeling is mutual), they are cursed by the Orthodox Church and they are disregarded by the so-called ordinary citizens of a country where dissidents have always risked more than elsewhere, and defiant artists used to be looked upon with pity (and with a little admiration).

It is not known exactly who will enter the stage, and in which direction we will raise our fists. Pussy Riot are loud in form, sharp in views and strong in content. They take their public activities in the homeland and abroad with solemnity that Vladimir Putin’s petty officials appreciate, regularly placing the band leaders in custody, prisons and penal colonies.

So – everyone can raise hell. You have to be there and give your best. Or at least: scream till your voice is gone.
