In a world plunged into chaos and uncertainty, where the private becomes public, where every centimetre of a female citizen belongs to the state, women rebel and demand a public debate not only about their organs but also about their emotions.
Female citizens are fed up with the official narrative and demand monthiversaries, monuments, memorials (reserved for the victims of uprisings, battles or national catastrophes so far) also for hearts, often broken in equally dramatic circumstances.
For all those who are tired of the official, national, political and military discourse, we propose an alternative, extremely private, carnival, contemporary martyrdom – “Gloria Amore Victis”!
“Gloria Amore Victis” is a feminist music stand-up inspired by the title of an ironical sculpture by Oskar Dawicki, referring to the poetics of typical commemorative plaques “in honour” and war memorials and praising “all those who are unhappily in love”. DIC.ABC quotes this irony – we want to play with the national patriotic narrative and propose an alternative, comedic history of Polish martyrdom, with a breakup as the first stage!
