The participants of stage II of the Song Interpretation Contest have been chosen

From 5 to 7 February at the Capitol Musical Theatre the rehearsals of the stage I of the Song Interpretation Contest took place. The performances were judged by The Artistic Council consisting of Maja Kleszcz, Justyna Szafran, Konrad Imiela, Mariusz Kiljan, Michał Litwiniec, Krzysztof Mieszkowski, Jerzy Satanowski and Bogusław Sobczuk. Seventeen people were chosen, who will sing at the stage II of the Song Interpretation Contest during the 43rd Stage Songs Review and they are:

  • Kuba Anusiewicz – Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Łódź,
  • Monika Bubniak – actress, graduate of Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow,
  • Marta Burdynowicz – Syrena Theatre, graduate of Stanisław Moniuszko Music Academy in Gdańsk,
  • Krzysztof Drozdowski – Scena Supernova Theatre in Cracow, graduate of Music Academy in Cracow,
  • Maja Frejtag – Musical Study at Capitol Musical Theatre in Wrocław,
  • Anna Grochowska – Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw,
  • Aleksandra Jeznach – SWPS University in Sopot, vocal coach,
  • Marina Mashtaler – Ej. Aj Theatre,
  • Piotr Michalczuk – graduate of Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow, the branch in Wrocław,
  • Agata Siemaszko – folk and world music singer,
  • Olek Talkowski – graduate of Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow, associated with Stu Theatre,
  • Anna Urbanowicz – Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw,
  • Jan Wieteska – Ateneum Theatre, Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw,
  • Wiktoria Wojtas – Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow,
  • Maria Wróbel – Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow,
  • Mateusz Wróblewicz – Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow,
  • Urszula Zubek – University of Warsaw.

The stage II of the Song Interpretation Contest takes place on the 25 March on the Capitol Musical Theatre’s Big Stage. The Artistic Council will decide  which of the performers in the second round will go through to the final. On the last Friday of the festival, 31 March, the finalists will be judged by a jury consisting of Joanna Duda, Ralph Kamiński, Anna Kazejak, Filip Łobodziński and Krzysztof Mieszkowski.

The awards:
Grand Prix – the Golden Toucan statuette and 25,000 zlotys,
The Toucan of the Journalists,
The Toucan of the Audience,
The ZAiKS Authors’ Association Award for the best performance of a Polish song – 10,000 zlotys
The Polish-German Cultural Society Polonica Award – 4,000 zlotys and an invitation to the next edition of the Rock & Chanson Festival in Cologne,
The Museum of Polish Song in Opole Award – a recording studio session,
The Monika Jaworska Award – a statuette and Tour de RAM: participation in selected programmes and podcasts of Radio RAM,
The Lower Silesia Film Centre Award – 6,000 zlotys for media promotion of the winner.
