A Gala performance dedicated to Stanisław Radwan – an outstanding composer of theatre music, an icon of artistic Krakow, a great friend of the Festival, and a winner of the Aleksander Bardini Master Diploma.
The Gala director Ewa Konstancja Bułhak says:
– I want to use his music to tell the story of a human, an artist, and to create images that often accompany me while listening to the Master’s works. I also want to thank him for the time when I could watch, experience and, above all, learn from him. The concert will include compositions from plays by Jerzy Grzegorzewski and Krystian Lupa, works based on poems by Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński, Halina Poświatowska, and Zbigniew Herbert, whose poetry will guide us through the land of Stanisław Radwan’s music. There are such plays – encounters – where one has the impression of touching another human being, the emotional connection between the spectator and a world that unfolds on the stage. Singing Radwan’s compositions has always involved feeling that what I do is meaningful and important.
As a director, I want to make a show about the beauty and love of the artistic profession, about the hardships that constantly accompany us. About life, the passing of time, and the good that remains.
We are responsible for words, their beauty and their power.
