A gruesome murder shocks the community of a small village. A crowd of onlookers appears, all eager to look into the beast’s eyes. He is an ordinary boy, a mechanic at the local garage. The victim is the teenage daughter of the garage owner. She has been stabbed. The murderer has cut out her tongue and gouged out her eyes. The man is sentenced to death. The execution becomes part of a media show.
Today, society is descending into chaos and apathy, and moral foundations are crumbling under the onslaught of media, politics and individual interests. The question of the death penalty becomes not only an ethical issue but a necessity. In this play, death is not just an end. It is the moment when everything that has been destroyed can be restored.
