The concert by Sofinka — last year’s winner of the Song Interpretation Contest — is a music-visual performance about transitions and returns, about how different musical streams merge into a single voice. At its heart is the piano: at once an instrument of lyricism and resonance, and, when prepared, a source of unexpected colours. Accompanied by double bass, drums, and traditional vocals, Sofinka creates a sonic world where Polish folk heritage meet contemporary harmonies, where dissonance verges on a song, and fragments of ancient melodies resurface in altered forms.
The music does not reconstruct folk material — it allows it to inhabit the sound. Broken apart, dissolved, and reworked through multiple genres and experiments, it shapes a new musical landscape. Voices blend with instruments, the familiar collides with the unfamiliar, and moments of raw intimacy grow into a dense, multi-layered river of sound.
This is not a finished story, but a journey: a confluence of roots and inspirations, tradition and experiment, past and present.
