Royber Trio brings together artists with firmly established individual reputations (first, unquestionable plus for their names and achievements), who set aside personal ambitions to present music detached from the films it was originally created for (second plus for humility and courage).

Mikołaj Trzaska describes composing film music thus: “This work requires me to participate in the film more as an actor than as an illustrator or commentator. I am not a Hollywood-type composer — my task is to follow the protagonist and their emotional states. I try to reveal everything that cannot be performed for the camera.”

What matters is intuition and the ability to grasp the ungraspable. By performing film music without the films themselves, Mikołaj Trzaska, Olo Walicki, and Macio Moretti transcend the boundaries of imagination and break free from the constraints of habit. Their performance is both delicate and furious, lyrical and contemplative, and wildly unrestrained in its improvisation. On the way toward a shared catharsis, theirs and the audience’s.
