When ’90s electronics collide with avant-garde jazz to fall together into a dance trance.
The backbone of the improvisation is formed by compositions by Bartosz Weber, who works with an ultra-modern tracker (which still demands solid old-school skills) by the Polish company Polyend. This digital marvel could be manufactured over the hills and far away — but would the band’s sound still have that unmistakable wild, Slavic-technological edge then?
So: there are sequences, loops, and rigid structures — and above them, beside them, in front of and behind them — saxophone and drums tangled together. Just like in Tadeusz Peiper’s formula: metropolis, mass, machine.
“Bartosz Weber invests a great deal of energy in structure, melodies, and the relationships between individual parts. As Molar, he plays quantized music — yet deeply humanistic.”
(Bartek Chaciński, Polityka)“There will be no shortage of sparkling adventures, free-falling, and even mad electronics.”
